Can You Be Christian and Gay? A Biblical Response (Go Read & Find Out)! By: Prophetess Gladys Dark 🙏🏾
Can You Be Christian and Gay? A Biblical Response (Go Read & Find Out)!
The Word of God makes it clear that when a person is born again, they become a new creation in Christ.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
This new identity means that the believer no longer lives according to the flesh or past desires, but submits fully to the will of God. Scripture teaches that God’s design for marriage and sexuality is between one man and one woman in covenant union (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4–6).
Any practice outside of this—including homosexuality and lesbianism—is identified in the Bible as sin. Paul emphasizes in 1 Corinthians 6:9–11 that those who practice sin, including homosexual behavior, cannot inherit the kingdom of God.
Yet, he also speaks of transformation: “And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.” This highlights that through Christ, freedom and deliverance are possible.
To identify as both Christian and gay contradicts the call to holiness, because following Jesus requires denying oneself, taking up the cross, and surrendering all desires that conflict with God’s Word (Luke 9:23).
Just as a liar, adulterer, or idolater cannot remain in their sin and still walk in obedience, neither can a person continue in homosexual practice while professing to live as a disciple of Christ. The Gospel is not about affirming “who” we once were, but about transforming us into who we are in Him.
Prayer for Deliverance
Heavenly Father, in the Mighty Name of Jesus, I come before You asking that you give a repentant heart to all individuals operating in the spirit of homosexuality and lesbianism.
Your Word declares that if we are in Christ, we are a new creation and that old things must pass away (2 Corinthians 5:17). Today, let them renounce and break every tie, influence, and spirit of homosexuality and lesbianism that has tried to hold them captive. May they reject every lie of the enemy and declare that their identities are not in their past, their feelings, or their desires, but in Christ Jesus alone.
Lord, wash everyone who has prayed this prayer of deliverance in the Blood of Jesus and sanctify each of them by Your Spirit.
Break every chain of lust, perversion, and confusion. I command every unclean spirit to loose them now, in the Name of Jesus. Father, I thank You that they are no longer a slave to sin but they are children of God, redeemed and restored.
Fill every empty place in their lives with Your love, Your peace, and Your presence. Align their thoughts, and bodies, and all their desires with Your will, and teach each of them to walk in holiness and purity.
I declare by faith that they are free, healed, and made new in Christ Jesus Name. Amen.
If you prayed that prayer with me— comment below… “I Am Free!”
Daily Declaration of Freedom
I am a new creation in Christ; old things have passed away (2 Corinthians 5:17).
I have been washed, sanctified, and justified in the name of Jesus (1 Corinthians 6:11).
My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, and I will honor God with it (1 Corinthians 6:19–20).
I am no longer a slave to sin, for I have been set free by the truth (John 8:36).
I live by the Spirit, and I will not gratify the desires of the flesh (Galatians 5:16).
