Job Chapter 39: God Continues to Question Job
In this chapter, God asks Job profound questions about the complexity and majesty of His creation. This chapter also highlights God's magnificent power and wisdom that is far beyond human comprehension. This chapter is also a humbling reminder to acknowledge our limited understanding in the face of God's omnipotence and omniscience. Through God's creation, we are taught to trust in His grand design. In our humility, we find the way to true wisdom.
The Wild Goats and Deer (Vs 1-4)
*God questions Job, asking him if he knows when mountain goats give birth or if he can count the months until the deer give birth.
*God asks Job if he can determine when they will kneel, give birth to their offspring, and when their young become strong, and grow up to leave without returning.
* God reminded Job of the arrangement of growth and maturity He had engineered for the natural order. Asking Job if he designed it or even have much knowledge of it.
The Wild Donkey and Ox (Vs 5-12)
*God asks Job about the wild donkey's freedom and who gave the wild ox it's strength.
* God questions if Job can rely on the strength of the wild ox or leave his labor to it.
The Ostrich (Vs 13-18)
*The Lord speaks of the ostrich, who leaves her eggs on the earth, letting them warm in the sand. The ostrich is oblivious to the fact that the eggs may be crushed by foot or trampled by a wild beast. Yet she spreads her feathers to run and laughs at both the horse and rider.
The Horse (Vs 19-25)
*God asks Job if he can give a horse it's strength or clothe it's neck with a mane.
*God describes the eagerness of the horse and its fearlessness in battle. How it pawns in the valley and rejoice in its strength.
The Hawk and Eagle (Vs 26-30)
*God inquires about the hawk, asking Job if he commands it to soar and build it's nest high.
*God also asks Job about the eagle and it's nest on the rocky crags, where it spies its prey from far off.
