Job Chapter 32: Elihu Rebukes Job's Friends
This chapter emphasizes the importance of listening and the value of wisdom regardless of a person's age. It points out how true wisdom comes from God not from age or from human understanding alone. Elihu is a younger man who is listening to the debate between Job and his friends. He is angered by Job's self justification and Job's friends failed attempts to refute him. Elihu held back out of respect for his elders, but feels compelled to speak because of his belief that God gives wisdom to anyone no matter what their age is.

*Elihu believes wisdom comes from God Almighty and not from age or experience alone.

One core lesson from Job 32 is that wisdom is not confined to age or experience, but comes from the breath of God—the Spirit who gives insight. Elihu represents the voice of the next generation, reminding us that God can raise up unexpected messengers to speak truth, especially when others fall short.
This chapter challenges assumptions that spiritual authority always comes with seniority, and encourages humility for both the old and the young: the old should remain teachable, and the young should speak only when led by the Spirit, not by ego.
It also teaches that righteous indignation has a place when truth is being mishandled—but it must be expressed with reverence, clarity, and the intent to restore rather than to wound. Elihu models how passion for justice and truth can inspire action when rooted in a heart that seeks God's glory above all.
