Paul appears before Festus the new governor ( Vs 1-22)
*The chief priests and leading men of the Jews brought charges against Paul and looked for ways to kill him
*They wanted the trial in Jerusalem so Paul could be ambushed.
*God and Paul prevented their schemes.
*Roman citizens had the right to appeal to Caesar so the case can be tried in higher courts
*Paul wanted to go to Rome to preach and the appeal would give him an opportunity
* Paul knew his rights as a Roman citizen.
* Days later King Agrippa II and his sister Bernice paid their respects to Festus.
* Festus knew little of Christianity but knew the resurrection was important to Christian beliefs
*Paul appealed to be held in custody for a decision by the emperor but was ordered to be kept until he could be sent to Caesar
* King Agrippa wanted to hear Paul
Paul before Agrippa (Vs 23-27)
* The next day Paul was brought before Agrippa and Bernice in the auditorium
* The Jews did not want Paul to live any longer
*Festus did not find Paul worthy of death and decided to send him to Rome
*Festus took Paul before King Agrippa to have something to put in writing about Paul's accusations after the investigation
*Festus saw it as unreasonable to send a prisoner to Rome without being able to indicate their charges
God bless 🙏🏽
